Our fifth podcast episode features Da’Quan Williams and Mike Jefferson from UNCW. With the growing popularity of two-year live-on requirements in our region, they feel that the focus in our field is moving almost exclusively towards catering to the experiences of first and second-year populations. As a result, our resources, signature events, and departmental initiatives sometimes lack intentionality as they pertain to our upperclassmen populations. They chose this topic for any professionals tasked with supporting and engaging upperclassmen populations and those who are asked to do so in a non-traditional community such as apartments. This episode will provide resources, strategies, best practices, and techniques that housing professionals can implement in their work to avoid burnout and bring out the true potential of their communities.
